ARCHIVED AND NO LONGER RELEVANTJuly 15, 2009: PECO Procurement Spring 2009 Solicitation Results
In the PECO Default Service Plan settlement filing, which was approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on April 16, 2009, parties agreed to the public release of certain information regarding the results of each solicitation 30 days after the solicitation (or 21 days before the supply period starts, whichever comes earlier). The Spring 2009 solicitation was held on June 15, 2009 for supply starting on January 1, 2011. The following information about the Spring 2009 solicitation is provided in accordance with the PUC Order:
Spring 2009 Solicitation Results
Full Requirements Products: Residential Class
Average winning bid price ($/MWh): $88.61
Number of suppliers qualified to submit bids: 11
Number of suppliers that won: 2
Tranches procured for the Fixed-Price 17-month product: 8
Tranches procured for the Fixed-Price 29-month product: 4
Exhibit G of the settlement states that the average bid price for baseload block energy products is released as long as supply for at least 8 blocks has been procured. Because the Spring 2009 solicitation sought supply for 4 blocks, results for block products are not being released at this time. If the Fall 2009 solicitation results in supply for at least 8 blocks being procured, aggregate results from the Spring 2009 solicitation and the Fall 2009 solicitation will be released subsequent to the Fall 2009 solicitation in accordance with the settlement.
A Bidder Information Session will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Philadelphia for the Fall 2009 solicitation. Registration is required; please RSVP on the PECO Web site. Part 1 Proposals are due by noon on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
